Redfield engineers set out to design an optical system that would become the standard by which all others must be measured. By using different types of exotic optical glass (including both ED and Lanthanum), high transmission optical coatings, and some of the most innovative optical designs ever developed, these new riflescopes restore the Redfield brand to its rightful position as the leader in riflescope design and performance.

Apochromatic Objective Lenses and Exclusive Coatings

A problem faced by all optical designers, especially in higher power riflescopes, is chromatic aberration, an effect that appears as a bluish or yellowish “fringe” around the image. Most scope manufacturers use multiple lens elements in an effort to correct this problem. Although more cost effective, this method adds weight and complexity to the riflescope and only partially corrects the effect—a result with which our optical designers were not satisfied.

Not willing to sacrifice performance, Redfield engineers selected a premium, extra-low dispersion (ED) glass in the construction of the objective lenses. Eliminating the need for heavy compound lenses, these special apochromatic lenses (APOs) are used specifically to correct for color.

Redfield’s apochromatic lens design dramatically reduces chromatic aberration while increasing contrast, resolution and light transmission.

Light transmission through the scope is vital to delivering a clear image to your eye. This is especially true in low light situations. Most high-end riflescopes feature fully multi-coated lenses using various types of coatings. Our optical engineers raised the bar by applying precision, broadband coatings that increase light transmission by an extra 2.8% over traditional fully multi-coated lens systems. This means the maximum amount of light possible reaches
your eye.

Redfield’s Premium QTA™ Quick Target Acquisition Eyepiece

Our optical designers understand what it means to be hunting in the real world. The QTA™ (Quick Target Acquisition) eyepiece has an amazingly large eyebox providing more room to move forward, backward, and side to side behind the scope—getting you on-target faster and more reliably. And now, through the use of high-density Lanthanum glass and a glass aspheric lens that is precision manufactured in Meade’s® U.S. facility, Redfield’s new eyepiece delivers a constant 4 inches of eye relief throughout the entire 5x zooming range, delivering one of the most distortion-free images ever offered in a riflescope.

HydroShield™ Hydrophobic Lens Coatings

Our engineers designed a new hydro-phobic lens coating called HydroShield™ to help control the elements. It resists water and fog build-up on exterior lens surfaces to ensure a clear field of vision in all weather conditions.

5x Magnification Range

Featuring Redfield’s innovative and patent-pending 3-cam zooming system, all Redfield scopes offer a 5x power range—a feat of engineering never before accomplished in the history of commercial riflescope production. It’s made possible by an advanced optical and mechanical design inside the scope’s erector system. The versatility and potential application for these scopes is incredible! Everything from hunting dangerous game at close range to ultra long-range target or varmint shooting is possible with these remarkable new scopes.

TrueZero™ Windage and Elevation Dials

Often, the most challenging shots are the most gratifying, especially when you can count on your equipment. When field adjustments are necessary you need to have absolute confidence that your windage and elevation dials will put you dead on target. Redfield TrueZero dials do just that. An innovative ball bearing and spring system provides precise and repeatable adjustments throughout the entire range. Their new fingertip-style adjustment knobs make them easy to adjust in any weather conditions, even while wearing heavy gloves. They also feature a low-profile design with target turret-style features and are offered in both one-quarter and one-eighth MOA versions, depending on the model. The days of breaking out a screwdriver or Allen key to reset your dials to zero are gone! The new Redfield design allows you to simply push down on the dial and turn the indicator to zero, which locks the dial in place.

Patented TrueZero™ Flex Erector System

Redfield engineers incorporated the patented TrueZero™ Flex Erector design into the construction of the internal erector tube. The traditional gimbal/biasing spring design found in nearly all other riflescopes is replaced by an erector tube that is solidly attached to the
scope body.

In traditional riflescopes, problems within the erector tube are the leading cause of point-of-impact shift. This is primarily due to the effects of recoil on the internal parts. Now for the first time, point-of-impact accuracy does not depend on a spring or gimbal that weakens over time. Redfield’s new advanced design eliminates the parts associated with these problems, so the chance of system failure anywhere within the scope is dramatically reduced. Fewer parts means less weight and less chance of recoil causing damage within the scope. With these problems all but eliminated, you will enjoy a new level of shooting performance.

AccuClick™ Diopter Adjustments

All Redfield fast focus eyepieces include our new AccuClick™ design featuring 1/8 diopter adjustment clicks throughout the entire diopter range.

True One-Piece Main Tube Construction

Riflescope construction begins with the main tube, and while other optical manufacturers have long boasted of having one-piece main tubes, our engineers crafted the first and only true one-piece tube. Created as precision machined one-piece unit from the objective bell to the eyebell (end-to-end), the Redfield riflescope is not only extraordinarily lightweight, but extremely strong and rugged.

Side Focus, Parallax Adjustments

Three models in the new Redfield line feature side-focus parallax adjustments. The parallax adjustment mechanism is mounted on the saddle area, instead of the objective bell which allows you to stay on target while making parallax and fine focus adjustments. This focus mechanism is especially helpful on long-range targets.

All Redfield scopes are designed, assembled and tested at our state-of-the-art design and manufacturing facility in the United States from component parts produced in the finest American and offshore factories.
